Submissions for The Filmjoint Awards will open on August 4.
The Submissions for The Filmjoint Awards 2025 will officially open on the 4th of August, 2024.
Films nominated at The Filmjoint Premieres are automatically qualified for the Awards. All you have to do is submit your short film in the categories of your choice for free. This edition, there is a required submission fee of three thousand naira (N3,000), the Premieres nominees and Filmjoint Members are not required to pay this fee, Members also have other benefits regarding the awards. The Filmjoint Disqualifies Films for Breach of Submission Guidelines.
The attention of The Filmjoint has been drawn to two films in the top ten finalists currently streaming on public platforms, which directly contradicts our requirement that submitted films must not be released until after the Premieres. Regrettably, these films have been disqualified for breach of submission guidelines.
Unlike the Awards which have different eligibility criteria, the Premieres strictly consider unreleased films. It is important for filmmakers to thoroughly review and adhere to the submission guidelines before submitting their film. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in the disqualification of the film from consideration, even if it has been selected for the top five that will be showcased. Read more... He rose to fame through the webseries, The Interview, on NdaniTV about an unassuming job-seeker for which he was nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy in the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award in 2015. He has gone on to feature in several movies like The Wedding Party and its sequel The Wedding Party 2 . Previously working as a journalist, he also works as a photographer and a filmmaker. Deadline for Submission of Short FilmsThe FilmJoint will be closing entries for submission of short films on Friday, 31st of March, 2023 by 11:59pm (WAT). The submission which opened on Monday, 12th of December 2022, has received a huge number of entries from different parts of the world. The films will pass through different stages of screening and five short films will make it to the final stage which qualifies them to be premiered on Tuesday, 6th of June, 2023.
