The idea that short films don’t have a market in Nigeria is a notion that has been peddled for a while in our society, and has created more harm than good to the film Industry. While the notion might have some level of truth to it, it has demoralized filmmakers who have interest in making short films and also closed the doors of opportunity for these filmmakers. Apart from creating short films as proof of work to get the opportunity to create feature films or series, the truth is; there cannot be a market for short films if no one creates that Market.
THE FILMJOINT PREMIERES showcases unreleased short films in a grand live-audience format, accompanied by panel sessions with cast and crew. These films are screened, critically judged by senior industry professionals, and subsequently distributed to interested VOD platforms for broader exposure and monetization.
Submitting your short film to The Filmjoint Premieres automatically gives you access to our distribution opportunities - especially if your film is nominated or selected as one of the top 10 finalists. Our goal is to help filmmakers earn returns on their work, while also ensuring their films are seen, celebrated, and valued. Nominated films also get considered for The Filmjoint Awards.
